Planting time!
The week before the Easter holidays we planted parsnips and onions in our area of the garden. John was out there and very kindly helped us to make a hole and plant our seeds. we measured the distance between each seed to make sure they have enough room to grow. Once the bed was full we used a rake to cover over the holes with soil. in the next few weeks hopefully we will see some new growth.
We have taken part in a project with a school in India. They sent each class different seeds to plant. Our class have Sponge Gourde seeds. We planted these in a window box to keep in our classroom. Our Irish weather is a bit too cold for these so we are keeping them nice and warm inside. Every day somebody waters them. During the two weeks of the Easter holidays they grew a lot and we can see some of the plant growing up through the soil. It will be very interesting to see how they turn out.
